<content type="html">&lt;p&gt;Hi Geoff,&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I was speaking with colleagues over lunch today about a chemist who's been approached by DE Shaw, a hedge fund in NYC that seems to be actively recruiting economists, mathematicians, and now, perhaps, chemists!  So maybe there's hope for reformation for all us academics.  &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;BTW loved your attitude adjustment for PhD's.  I might have to frame it.&lt;/p&gt;
